How to replace Ford Windstar 2003 Car battery?

So my dad got home today, to find his car battery dead. So, he went to the store and got a new one A few hours later he asks for my help on switching the battery. He tells me that usually, car batteries would be easy to remove/replace However, he cannot remove the car battery There are no screws or anything The battery won't budge. We tried prying/tugging it but no can do Can someone give advice on how to fix this problem? Also I am bad at cars so please be descriptive

at the front of the battery there is a black plastic hold down (plastic wedge)....use a socket wrench with an extension and I think a 5/16 socket to remove it....be gentle if it is seized, try to tighten it an 1/8 turn then loosen it off and out
