Where is the VIN number located?

Where "exactly" is the vin number located on a 1963 ford unibody pickup?

  • I have a number on the data plate on the door but DMV says that it has no record of the vehicle, so I can't get an abandoned vehicle title in VA. I've read that it's also stamped on the top of the frame rail. Well, I've sanded, cleaned, used a flashlight and a mirror and can't find one. If I can't find it, I'll have to part this excellent condition truck out instead of restoring it or selling it. Can't find VIN on firewall either.

    Vin # is located on drivers side of dashboard. You can see it through the window. In 1963, they did not use titles. The registration would have been transferrable and that would have been the title.

is it in the dashboard near the windshield like all older cars and i dont know about your state but all we need is a bill of sale to make it legal a title isnt worth crap for them older models
