Can I use food coloring to stain wood?
-
I'm building another guitar, and I want to finish it blue, but still showing the grain. Can I do this using normal food dye/coloring? I'd rather spend 50 cents on a bottle of food coloring than 20 dollars on a bottle the same size of guitar stain.

Answer:
Maybe you cold use shoe polish. Really. But your sweat or any moisture will mess up food coloring.
