How do you put a decal on a windshield?

Is it okay to use gasoline that put inside old windshield wiper fluid containers?

  • had drained out the gasoline out of my motorcycle and put it inside windshield wipter fluid containers..but was wondering how okay it is to put back in? the residue of windshield wiper fluid wont damage anything? if any in there?..(The gasoline was fairly new..i just wanted to work on something.)..

    The windshield wiper container isn't approved, so many people will tell you "no". Gasoline can react with plastic and cause it to deteriorate over time. That having been said, you won't experience any ill effects if you run that gas through your motor. It sounds like it wasn't in the container for long, and even if it had been in there for a couple of months, unless you are running a competition bike putting down 150hp through tuned injectors and engine management I wouldn't even think twice about it. You'll be fine, but it's better to ask than to damage it. Good question.

I wouldnt worry about it short term. 6 months not good less than that its fine and dont worry anything the gas dont like it would eat anyway gas is a good cleaner it just eats stuff you like to rubber paint plastic so if it did not eat the container its fine.

I agree with these guys! Mostly:) Some plastics store gasoline just fine, some not so much. I think when you go to pour it back in the bike, strain it through a piece of cheese cloth (at the hardware) and if you see ANY signs of stringy stuff, quit putting it into your bike. I watched a comedy with gasoline in a milk/water jug a few years ago. Dimwit riding with us ran out, one of the guys went back (maybe 10 miles) to get some...put a gallon in a water jug, and just barely got it poured in before the jug failed completely. I'm glad it wasn't going through my carbs!

As long as the containers were empty & hopefully dry when you stored gas in them,there shouldn't be a problem.
