How can i tell if my dirt bike kill switch is not working? (bike wont start)?

  • ok So i have a feeling i know the problem but i want to get rid of one more option. I am pretty sure my ignition coil is faulty. as my BRAND new spark plug isn't getting spark. but how can i tell if my Kill switch isn't faulty. is there a way? Its a 70cc dirt bike with a kick start.

To be honest, the best thing to do is to purchase a new one, they average between $8-15 and are very easy to replace. I have had the same problem.

depending on the circuit you will either have to open the circuit by unplugging it. or it will have to be grounded to the frame.

You'll first need to access the switch connections. Using an ohm meter or self powered test light, you can now test to see if the kill switch causes an open circuit in your system.
