1994 Chevy Cavalier?

  • I'm getting ready to buy a '94 Cavalier with 130,000 miles on it. It won't be driven more than 8 miles per day, but I'm wondering what maintanance I should get done on it. Are there any particular problems I should be looking out for on this car?

  • Answer:

i own a shop, and the usual stuff on this car like brakes and maybe a good maintenance record on it,just loo it over, real good it could be a jewel of a car ,and it could be a total piece of junk ,its a used car anythings possible on one, good luck.

Be sure to look at everything! BUT, with 130,000 miles on it, don't expect a 'new car'. Depending on engine, a timing belt may be in order. Are there records that seller can reproduce that documents oil changes, repairs, etc done to the car? Be sure to take it for a test drive. Good luck.

look for antifreeze leaking between head and block. usually on end by the trans.check trans fluid should be reddish looking.also look at radiator for greenish gunk indicating a leak.pretty descent cars otherwise.
