2002 Mercury Mountaineer Transmission?

2002 Mercury Mountaineer Transmission... I replaced it in Nov 06 and since then have taken it to the shop 3 times expressing concern - weird sounds feels weird and ultimately LEAKING. HELLO! Yeah they said it was "fine" and the fluid level was topped off. SO this time I take it in and after 2 days they said they replaced the seal and the fluid and I coudl come get it.. they changed their minds I guess cuz its been 2 weeks now and now they are saying I need a whole new one! Oh and the manufacturer wont honor warranty...hmmm any ideas how I should handle this??? (I owe $11k still on loan!) The shop wants $2000 up front for new tranny and payments on remaining $500! lol
