What is wrong with my gas gauge going up and down?

I was driving my car then all of sudden the gas gauge started going crazy, does that mean my gas gauge is brok

    The first thing to check would be the cable leading to the fuel gauge. Then if that is ok, then you should look at the fuel sending unit that is inside the tank. It has a float, kind of like a toilet, that sends the fluid level to the gauge. Most GM vehicles have fuel system-related problems and it sounds like this is no exception. Good luck!!

check the trunk/hood for aliens/poltergeists. check especialy in the fan belt while the car's running and use a screw driver or some other long sharp object.

Depends on the car. I've had a cooling sensor go bad that effected fuel readings. Auto Zone, with deposit, will let you use a code reader that may diagnose the problem. You just plug into a reciprocal under your dash. Good luck

I believe there is a float thing in the gas tank that guides the fluctuations in the gauge. THAT may need replacing.

Probably the control from the computer or the anti-slosh card. Take it to the dealer...you may find that they have a recall on it. Don't take any crap from them, it's a factory defect and they are responsible for fixing it.
