What's the use of Deterministic Regular Expressions?

If i fill my tank with half premium unleaded and half regular, will it cause any harm to my car?

  • i have a 2002 beetle and i always use premium cause... well i dont know but... its expensive here! $3.40 for premium, but only 2.99 for regular unleaded. i was gonna wait till my tank ran awefully low to start it all on regular, but i have to leave for SD this weekend and im barely at half a tank(premium) so i need to fill up before i go. can i fill the other half with regular, or is it bad to mix premium and regular...... and can i even put regular unleaded in a 2002 beetle? im not sure cause i have never used regular in any of my cars but the price is making me want to switch. whats a beetle supposed to take anyways?

  • Answer:

Unless specified by the manufacturer, premium is only going to make a difference if you are running a performance engine. I don't think that is an option with the beetle. Mixing gas types will do nothing. The oxtane level will level out and you won't notice a difference. Niether will your car.

Putting premium gas in your beetle does absolutely nothing. It doesn't had horsepower or help the life span of your engine. Its like putting money down the toilet. 87 Octane is all you need.

You shouldn't have to use premium fuel in a VW. All you are doing is throwing money away. Stick with regular fuel and a can of injector cleaner every 6 months.

No, it won't harm your car. Do you need premium gas for your car? Read your car's manual and see what octane your beetle requires. Using a higher octane gas than required is a waste of money and does your car no good.

Only to your wallet. That's how gas stations make mid-grade anyway. They fill the underground tanks with half regular and half premium.

yeah it will. You can only use 1 type of gas. It will mess your car up. don't do it

wow

it will run fine.and expensive gas is same gas as regular unleaded.it's just the additivers put in it.the additives added don't help anyway. It's a scam to get you to pay more.

starbrite.

you can mix fuels but for a long trip you should use the premium because you'll get better gas mileage. if you're that concerned get a diesel vehicle (like the jetta TDI) they get about 600 miles per tank, and even though diesel is more expensive, if you factor it out, it's cheaper in the long run

no its just octane.

Wes

the octane's will neutralize and basically make it mid grade fuel. so no it won't hurt it.
