Is there any adjustable windshield available on market?

Quickest way to melt the ice off a car windshield? is there a way to keep frost from forming(don't have garage?

  • Is there a product on the market that you can spray on ahead of time to keep ice/frost from forming on my car windshield. I've been using my ice scraper, but it took me 30 min this morning to get all the ice off so that my car was drivable. Also my door won't open til I splash hot water on it

  • Answer:

Keep a few bottles of cheapo 91% rubbing alcohol in your car or home. Pop one, dump it on the winshield, wait 30 seconds, and scrape the ice off. If you look at the ingredients of most deicers, the #1 ingredient is methyl alcohol. That's what melts the ice. Thus, you may as well get the pure stuff for 1/10th the price. And its enviornmentally safer to boot. It evaporates very quickly.

They have deicing windshield washer fluid, I am not sure how it works but I think it has some kind of ice melting chemical in it. It won't hurt your windshield I have used it and is available at all auto parts stores and Walmart You can also get an remote started for you car and just set the heater to defrost the night before. With the economy slumping and it the holiday times now you can friend pretty good deals on them even with install

snow on the car prevents the windshield from icing. not really something you can do (well i guess you could but it would look silly) a remote start that has a winter mode (starts car periodically for a few minutes) and leaving the defroster turned on might help honestly I don't think there is any really good solution I've looked myself :)

Don't tell every body this as they may want to market it. Put salt in a paper bag and lay it on the dash. If you don't believe me try it tonight and mail me tomorrow.

put a tarp over the windshield

Put a piece of special fabric over it the night before. Use a deicer.

The product is called cardboard or a car cover.

Rubbing alcohol works. Is something wrong with your defrost... 30 minutes seems awful excessive!
