How much does it cost to paint a car at Maaco?

How good are the paint jobs at Maaco?

  • I recently called around some of the top-ranked body shops in my town, and according to them, it can cost up to $8000 dollars to put a normal paint job on my car. Meanwhile, i heard about Maaco which does them for just hundreds of dollars. So what is the catch? Is Maaco's paint job crappier? Is their paint lower quality? Have you used their services before? Thanks for any advice you can give.

    their effort is very low. They do not put much material(paint) on the car and use low quality material. I would not recommend them unless the car was to be sold/traded or I could not get an estimate lower than that $8000 you were quoted. $2400 is a resonable cost to do a quality job unless body work is involved.

Well people on Yahoo! seem to think Maaco sucks But after looking at the home page of their official website: "No one does more auto body repair and auto paint jobs than Maaco, whether it's restoring a faded, damaged paint finish or repairing and painting collision damage so it looks like it never happened." I think Maaco is familiar with the quality of his own work... The choice is obvious. Did you know that in Joe Espinino's "You're the Best" he was actually talking about Maaco? True story Maaco's the best! Around! No paint job can keep 'em down! They're the best! Around! Greatest paint jobs you'll find in town-ow-ow-own!

boy 8000.00 is a hell of alot for a good paint job and maaco well you get what you pay for.it wont be good and wont last long.

They do good work...mine didn't blow off for two weeks! No I'm kidding,as in all products...you get what you pay for.

I had my work van repainted there and I was very happy it looked really good. I also repainted my truck and bought the best materials and you really can tell the difference in quality. u get what u pay for

there pretty bad, 8k is for high quality luxury cars with a flawless finish,all chrome and emblems removed before paint I've done them as high as 12k for exotics and classics needing minor body work, but for a real paint job look to spend about 3k, if it's a beater Earl Schibe does crappy cheap paint jobs also, hey it's one color and gets you from point a to point b that's all that really counts anyway
