Texas drivers license requirements?

  • Hi, Im turing 18 in Aug and I was wonder if I still need drivers ed at the age of 18 to go get my license ? If so is their a way to get around it ? Thanks

  • Answer:

No, you just don't need parental consent to obtain a license after you turn 18. From after you turn 18 until you turn 25 you have to complete a six-hour ADULT driver education course, AND do a written, driving and vision examination at the license office. You have to provide a car for the driving portion. After you turn 25 you just have to do the written, driving and vision examinations. Seven more years is the only way around driver's ed.
