Can i add a car to my insurance in another state?

Can you add someone to a car registration the day after you lease the car even though one person is leasing.?

  • My friend leased a car tonight and was told by the car dealers that insurance on the car would be about 100 a month. Well, after he leased the car and got it home he got a quote online through all the insurance companies and 600.00 a month was the cheapest rate. That is a ridiculous price. The question here is can my friend add his dad to his car registration so that he can just have the car put on his dads insurance with my friend still being primary driver. the only person on the lease is my friend. No cosigner. Is there a way to do this. The state is Tennessee by the way.
