How much is a car title transfer?

How much does i cost to transfer a Virginia VA car title to Maryland MD? What about DC to MD?

I plan on buying a car off craigslist.org but the cheap ones seem to be in virginia only. I am a MD resident but ic an never find good deals here, they're all in VA!! and DC too!! So my mother bought a 2007 toyota at a dealer in Virginia and she now has to pay around $1300 for the title transfer from VA to MD and for the tags and everything. The car I want to buy is like a cheap civic hatchback 1994 or so with no more than 120k miles. anyways, i am too young and i cant afford much, so i am scared that if i get a car from VA and when i want to transfer to MD that they will charge me more than what i would have paid for the car... ?
