How can I file a complaint about an insurance company that is treating me unfair regarding an auto claim?

BEFORE you go to the Attorney General, be sure you've gone "up the ladder" with claims manager and office manager. It is not fair to file a claim against an office without first making your dissatisfaction known (in writing) to the person(s) who will likely be involved in responding to a complaint from the State. If you're talking with the other party's insurance, be sure you've contacted your own insurance company. There's no fee or charges to initiate a claim through your insurance co. Good luck!

Well you can get in touch with the better business bureau (www.bbb.org). You could call your local news or write something for a magazine or local paper. You could always boycott and spread the word. Other than that, there is really not much you can do. Maybe sue, but insurance companies have armies of lawyers ready. Good luck.

I would file a complaint first with your states department of insurance. For example, Texas Department of Insurance or use your state and do a search in google and find your state. Then I would file a complaint with the BBB.org and ripoffreport.com and whatever other consumer place that would take me seriously. Also, consider taking your insurance company to court and fighting them against this claim. If you do this, it will seriously get their attention fast.
