What company sells cheap insurance for learner drivers?

My daughter just passed her driving test, so the insurance company DOUBLED her premium!?

    Since you can't even get insurance without a license, how could they double her premium? Yes, the rates for new drivers are high, and they are based on statistical information. It really doesn't matter if I think the statistics are true or not, my opinion won't influence the insurance company one bit. If you think the rates at one company are too high, shop around and see if you can get lower rates.

Just be glad your daughter is not your son. Rate would have increased even more. You may want to consider moving to a new insurance company.

The simple fact is she is classed as higher risk now that she's out on her own.

how can she have insurance doubled if she never even had a license? but yes insurance rates are always higher for new, young or bad drivers. as years go by it will lower, granted she doesnt get into accidents

I'm another one who is wondering how an unlicensed driver would need car insurance in the first place. Are you talking about that your daughter with a driving permit was originally on as a secondary driver on YOUR car insurance and that now as a newly licensed driver with her own insurance that she is paying alot more as expected for a teenage driver? Or are you talking about that your daughter had a car in her name before she started driving, had cheap insurance for it, because it was never driven and kept in the garage and now that she is actually driving a car full time, the insurance has gone up?
