What company sells cheap insurance for learner drivers?

How Can Auto Insurance Company Sell Auto Insurance To People With NO Drivers License?

  • I live in Cali and saw an ad in our neighborhood publication for auto insurance. I am not looking for new car insurance....just casually reading the publication. I read down a little further and saw "international license OK" and NO drivers license OK". I had to read it again. I called them for an answer but they thought I wanted to get auto insurance. I told them no I just wanted to know how you can get auto insurance if you do NOT have a license to drive a car.. The lady never did give me a clear cut answer just kept going around in circles. I hung up. This is an auto insurance company with a commercial on TV. What is going on and how are they getting away with this?

  • Answer:

Well, since you live in CA, I'm thinking you likely already know the answer. The likely explanation is that they are insuring illegal aliens. There is an estimated 18 million "undocumented" workers in this country, and you know they ain't all walking to work and the supermarket.

Just because you don't have a drivers license...does not mean you don't own a car. Example: an elderly lady can't drive anymore because of her health. However, she owns, maintains and insures a vehicle so that people who drive her places don't have to use their own cars. They drive hers. This way it's easier for her to get people to take her places and to her appointments.

You don't need a driver licence to insure a car, you need it to drive. Think about it, you could be a senior citizen who has given up your licence, but like to have a friend or relative drive you in your own car. Many thousands of seniors keep their cars. sometimes only one out of a couple was licenced, and passes away, the spouse keeps the car because he/she is comfortable being driven in it. With no driver licence, there is only flat rate insurance, no discounts available, and the owner can be driven by any licenced driver. There is nothing to "get away with", they are insuring cars, that is their business.

if you did not drive, but had a child that you bought a car for,and were going to pay insurance for that child.now they would want to know the pertinent information on who will be the driver(s)that will be operating the vehicle.

Also, why does a car have to buy liability insurance??? If I own three cars I have to have three liability policies although I can only drive one car at a time, and cars can't be liable for an accident, only people can.

This does not sound like a legitimate insurance carrier, it may be an independent broker trolliing for clients. There are some high risk companies that will insure people with international drivers licenses for short periods of time at high rates but no one will insure unlicensed drivers.

The insurance company is catering to illegals. I'd be willing to bet they won't pay off if one of their 'clients' has an accident.
