How long does it take to get a car title from DMV in tx?

Do i need to take my car to the dmv for new plates and title in my name?

• i just bought my car and i didnt have any money to get the title changed to my name and so the temporary tags expired , so now i cant drive the car anywhere because ill get pulled over so do i need to take the car with me to the dmv to get the title in my name and get new plates?

  How are you going to get the car there if you cannot legally drive it? How can they expect you to? Take the old expired paperwork with you, that is all you need. You may or may not need the previous owner there as well to sign over the title.
