How does a first time car buyer get insurance?
-
I'm thinking about getting a car, used most likely. The question is how do I go about getting car insurance, I'm a first time car buyer btw? Do I need it before I buy the car? Am I able to buy it with the car? How would I go about getting car insurance? Thanks

Answer:
Do I need it before I buy the car? No, you can't insure a car you don't have. Am I able to buy it with the car? No, car dealers don't sell insurance. How would I go about getting car insurance? Find an independent insurance agent, give him your personal information, and tell him you are looking to buy a car. When you find one you like, call him and give him the VIN off the car. When you buy it call him and let him know you did, and he can fax your insurance card to the dealer so you will have it.

Getting a car insurance, you must also consider the car you are planning to buy... You need a car first before getting your car insurance. Car dealers don't sell insurance...

A first time buyer need to purchase a new or used car. You should be at least 25+. You cannot purchase insurance on something you don't have. You can get insurance the same day you purchase the car either for 30 days with dealer or; get in touch with insurance carriers of your choice with the VIN# of the car you are about to purchase or would like to purchase. Get your quotes. Once you purchase your car call the insurance company then and there and give them the VIN# of the car you just purchased and once they receive your payment they will fax over the ID card to your dealer and you should receive the original shortly or if it's in the area you can pick it up because the scan bar will not be accepted by police God forbid you are stopped and need to show proof of insurance.

if you're buying a car from a dealer they will not let you drive away without any insurance. most of the times if you don't have prior overage you can buy insurance for about a month threw companies that they might partner with but it wont be cheap. once you get your car home search around a bit. u can try esurance.com and progressive.com these will both give you other competitors rates. geico was good for me before i started getting speeding tickets.
