Are there non-Chexsystems banks in Washington State?

What state is my car title from?

  • I bought my car in Nevada, the bank that holds the loan is in California. Than I loved to washington and registered it there (still paying to the bank in California) NOW I moved to Louisiana, and only have two payments left, and than I understand I will get my title saying its all mine after they file a release of lein. But what state is that in? Is it where I bought it (NV) The banks state (NV) or where its been registered?? And do I have to write to the state?? Help! Thanks so much, Ive tried googlinga ll this to no avail (found out all about title loans tho lol)

  • Answer:

Talk to the bank. They hold the original title and will send it to you when you have paid off the loan. They will also send a letter stating that the lien has been released. You can take both those pieces of paper to the local DMV in the state where you now live and transfer the title into your name.
