What happens if i get caught driving with my permit in another state?

  • I have my permit and i live in pa but my dad lives in nc and he wants to teach me how to drive since my mom doesnt have car. but the guy at the dmv said i can only drive in pa with the permit, what happens if im caught in nc?

  • Answer:

You can drive as long as you follow your states rules. In Pennsylvania you may not drive unsupervised between 11 pm-5 am. Your passenger restrictions are no passenger restrictions In North Carolina you may not drive unsupervised between 9 pm-5 am. Your passenger restrictions are no more than 1 passenger younger than 21; if a family member younger than 21 is already a passenger then no other passengers younger than 21 who are not family members Driver education is required for license applicants younger than 18.

Other answers

You get a ticket or go to jail or get off with a warning at the discretion of the police officer. What you want to do is have your dad take you to a local office and apply for a permit in the state where you will be on the road. That or just stick to parking lots and stay off of public roads.
