Illinois Driving Permit Question?

  • In Illinois you have to be 15 to obtain a driving permit. But, can you just take the CLASSES to get the permit when you're 14. I'm not asking if you can get the permit I'm asking if you can take the classes. Also, I think its stupid that they only give you a year to have 100 driving hours.

    I live in Illinois and you have to be 15 to take the class.If your 14 they won't let you take it until you are 15. by the way it is 50 or 75 hours with 10 of those hours night time driving not 100 hours. So if your 14 during the 1st semester they won't let you take it, but if you turn 15 before the start of the second semester they will other wise you will have to wait until you are a sophomore.

you need to be 15 by the time you've done about 12 hours of classes. and you have to get 50 hours of driving. you don't have to get it all done in a year, take all the time you want. edit: DON'T lie about the hours. you need the practice.
