Can my MVR be cleared?

How long does a speeding ticket stay on your driving record if you get a MVR from the DMV?

  • ive been looking around online for an answer to this question but cant find one to this. i got a speeding ticket about 6.5 years ago with my class C. i got my class A about 3 years ago after the ticket. my employer that i work for know asked me for a MVR when i first started there about 2 years ago and that ticket was on there. dont tickets like that come off your record after 3 years? if i get another MVR know which is 6.5 years later will that ticket be on there? any answers will help.

  • Answer:

The 3 year rule is relating to points on your driver's license and how long your insurance company can up your rates for. The length of time the ticket stays on your actual record varies by state. The best thing to do is obtain a copy of your own driving record. The car dealership I work for uses researchanyone.com to screen new employees driving records. $20 for a lifetime membership with unlimited searches. Good quality driving records too, very detailed.

here is the story jesse/you have a permanent driving record/everything that you did is on it until you die/points are not charged after 3 years of no violations/but they are still marked down/after 6 years of clean driving you got no problems from them/this is a permanent record/you should see mine

It all depends on the state you live in. Some states issue a 3 year report; some a 5 year report and some a 10 year report unless you are a police officer and then you have a lifetime report.
