I got in a car accident on Saturday and I need help with car insurance questions...?

• I got in a car accident on Saturday, July 31 2010 on I-15. A car cut me off too close, I lost control of my car and hit the concrete divider... My car bounced off and other cars ran into my car. Total 8 cars involved in this accident. Luckily, I was the only one who got hurt, but that car who cut me off ran away. I have one witness who saw what happened, and the officer who was there told me that he is not going to give me a ticket for this accident since it wasn't my fault. But there is no chance that we can catch the driver who ran away from the scene... My insurance said it cost more to repair my car than it's worth. I bought this car for $4600 last year and I still have about $2500 of payment left. I went on www.kbb.com to find a worth of my car, and now it's only around $2000 and I have to pay $500 deductible. Also my insurance said they can only cover up till $3000 for personal injury. I was on ambulance and did lots of tests such as ultra sound and x-ray etc. I know it's going to cost way more than $3000. I don't know what would be the best thing to do in this case. I would be owing so much money because of this accident. Is there anything I can do? Please help this poor college student... ='(

  The fact that you bought the car for way more than it's worth is a decision you made, and the insurance company isn't responsible for that. They pay you the fair market value, and that's it. The fact that you only bought $3000 of medical coverage was also your decision and the insurance company is not responsible for more than what you purchased. This isn't the insurance company's fault, nor is it their problem
