If you are only traveling on weekends, then they all do (all = the major companies. I can't speak for the fly by night types). Once you MOVE to Canada, they give you a grace period which varies by company. GMAC was 6 months...I seem to recall that State Farm was only 90 days....

So, to answer your question, I would say almost 100% of the US companies will cover you in Canada. Now, call your agent & get a Nonresident Interprovince Canadian ID card. This will be in English & French & will be required if you are ever in an accident or get a ticket.
