Is there a vehicle transfer in Texas?

Ownership of car in texas?

  • I had sold my car and it was impounded in Texas. I had filed the Vehicle transfer notification. If the car goes to auction and somebody buys it and not transfer the title, would it be still under my name?

  • Answer:

there is no way they going to sell it at the auction with your name on the title , anyway they apply for a new title for an abandoned car while on their propety , so the state will issue a new title to the new owner in this case the buyer at the auction . so don't worry you are no longer liable for anything that may happen to the car after you abandoned at the impound yard. hope this helps.

No, it may show you as a registered owner, but further into the record, the notification of sale will be shown, and there is coding put on record, so that the customer service people can tell right away if a car has been sold, and you are not the registered/legal owner.
