How much does new vehicle registration cost in Texas?

How do I renew my vehicle registration for Arizona when I am stationed in texas?

• My husband is currently stationed in Ft. Hood Texas but we are only here for the next 6 months. My vehicle is up for renewal registration and I would like to renew it in Arizona not Texas since i will be returning home in a few short months. Can I do this and have the tags mailed to me at my texas address? I do cary insurance in Arizona as well as Texas for my vehicle. I know I can do it online but worry about where they will send my tags (my old arizona address) or if i need emisions done...

  Do you have someone in Arizona who can do this for you in person? That might be easier for you in the long run. Why do you carry double coverage? It's good in all states. Just wondering. My brother had my mom renew his tags every year while he was in the Navy. More..... I would say she needs the proof of purchase and the current insurance/s and the current registration. If you have an emissions paper that too. That should be all she'd need, well besides the money to renew :) Thank you for answering the double coverage thing, I was just curous, makes definite sense though!
