What does a car title mean to me !!need help more than you know!!?

I payed for most of my car but my mom gave me some money for it. But my dad says that she embesled it from his buisness. The title Is in my name i need to know if i can leave home withoit him takeing the car! This important as I need a vehicle to live!! He has the title....but it Is in my name please help me!

Answer:
You can tell the DMV that you lost your title and that you need a new one. They will charge you $20 or so and you will be on your way. If you owe your dad money he can sue you but he can't just take away your car. That would be theft. He may have some leeway if you are a minor and he is your guardian.
