How can I find address from vehicle number?

How can i find out name and address of a vehicle owner, by using the reg number.?

  • a van has been left outside a neighbours house, broken down, we want to contact the owner as my neighbors husbands funeral is on thursday and the van is blocking the parking for the hursts, phoned the police and they didnt want to know.

    For all practical purposes in the UK you can't. If it's taxed and insured and not parked illegally there's nothing you can do anyway. And if it's broken down I'm sure the owner is already making plans to have it picked up.

You can't. If they're blocking access to private property, just have them towed.

you could call the local council and tell them its been dumped . they will find owner and or remove it

If it's taxed, on public road, not blocking a driveway, and is not blocking the highway or footpath (it can be partly on the footpath though), then there is nothing you can do because they are well within their rights to park there. If it wasn't broken down then I would suggest asking them politely if they wouldn't mind moving it, but IT'S BROKEN DOWN so just pop down off your soap box and leave them to move it once it's fixed.

You can not get that info because of privacy laws. Just call the police department and tell them the vehicle has been a banded.

you can't as this would allow someone to burgle a house as they would know if the owner was out. I'm sorry for the situation but there is nothing to be done except leave a note on the screen.
