How to get a drivers license in Kansas?

  • ive been looking up how to get license and the rules are very vague. it seems like all i have to do is actually take the test since i am 18 years old i think i can skip getting a permit. but im not sure, does anyone else know for sure? also. my parents want me to do driving school which i don't think i need, do i need it to get my license? or is it a preference(im already a good driver ive been driving illegally since i was 15 in VA,MD, and DC so its not something i need personally.)

You don't have to go to driving school, but you need to get a permit so you can practice. If you simply go in and pass the test without a permit, they will figure that you have been driving illegally and will question you about it. So go take the written test and get your permit, and then wait a few weeks and then go take the driving test and get your license.

Go down to the Courthouse & take the written test. Since you have no license, you will be required to take a driving test also.
