Do i need national insurance (uk?

What type of insurance do I need to take a driving test on my own car? (uk only please)?

  • Good morning, I want to take a driving test using my own car but when I look at what I need to do I always get this: "Your car must be insured for purpose. The driving test examiner will need you to sign a declaration stating that your car insurance is in order. If you are unable or unwilling to sign this form then the driving test will not go ahead. " I keep searching google to see if I need a specific insurance or just a normal one (my husband is the first person and I am second driver as it is his car), if I need a special one, can someone help me find a insurance company that will do it? thanks

  • Answer:

It should be covered by your own or husbands car insurance. You have a policy and could show it at the time of the exam. They are just making sure you have insurance in place before the examiner gets in the car. Which is fair enough. They are asking about regualr normal insurance and nothing else.
