Can I take driving school before I get my G1?

  • I have tried looking this up but I can't find it can I take driving school before I get my G1? Also would it shorten the time to get my G1? I know this works for your G2. But does it work for your G1?

    A G1 is basically a knowledge test of the rules of the road. I'm assuming your from Ontario. Back in my day it was called a 365. You need to get your G1 before you can start learning how to drive & move to the next level of G2. Once your're ready by practicising how to drive, you go for your G2. This will allow you to drive between certain times of the day but not the highway I don't think. A G1 is easy and you can get it within a week. My advice read the drivers handbook 2x & write the test. I'm not sure if you have to make an appointment, but do it so you can get one thing out of the way.
