Where to get work permit?

Idk where to get a work permit?

  • im 14 years old and i don't know how to get a work permit...where can i get one???

  • Answer:

No, well I don't know how the law is. But when I went to school when I was 14 that was the legal age to work. You go to you guidance counselor and fill it out and get your parents signature then they give you a card of a different color depending on your age. (if they do colors) the you apply for a job. Hey I don't remember school physicals for that. Maybe I went to the regular DR. They give you papers a few days later so they can make it official. The card is printed with the name on it and the age . I'm from New York too

you have to fill out a work permit sheet, that you can get from your school. But because you're only 14, i don't think they'll let you. You probably need to talk to a counselor to get special permission from your school.

I am in New York, USA and last year when my daughter was 14 years old she got her working papers from school. They had a special program set up at the end of the school year. Kids could sign up for an appointment. They had a nurse doing physicals. She brought her birth certificate and social security card to the appointment. Then when everything was checked okay, they gave her the working papers right there. Ask your school nurse if your school has a program like that. If not, maybe your family doctor can help you. Good luck!
