Did McLaren Cheat and did their drivers benefit from the information?

Is there any benefit to having the wrong information registered with EZ Pass?

• I just realized the vehicle information on the E-Z Pass website is very outdated, listing the license plate and car model I had 4 cars ago. They've never complained or noticed the discrepancy. They've taken the tag from me for non-payment, but gave it back when I updated my payment, without any comment about the license plate number. Is there any benefit to keeping the wrong information on there? (Getting out of bogus violations?) Or should I update it to the correct information?

  If you commit a violation, sometimes they take a pic of your license plate and match it with DMV records. Your account may be suspended and you won't be able to use it if they find a discrepancy. Sometimes you won't know until you get to the toll and you back up traffic and can't go anywhere. Is there a benefit? Somehow there is when it's against the law, but it's just not legal.
