If it is a car insurance 'cover note' that you are talking about the the quick answer is NO. You should have had insurance from your previous car , why didn't you just phone the insurance company and change your details of the change of vehicle. These 'cover notes' are a menace and you surely didn't have to take one out and probably 'recommended' to you from a dealer salesman.

The best answer to this is phone up the insurance company.There are various policy`s but i guess its only the purchaser thats covered , but i dont know and you can certainly get a quote from the insurance company for adding your sister , or any driver to the policy , but it will cost you.
