Does the DMV do their own driving test?

• I've been practicing for some time now, and I really want to take the test, mainly just to get it out of the way. I've done my 6 hours behind the wheel training with an instructor and I've been practicing for some time with my parents, But I'm still really worried. Do you think I should pay the instructor $140 to rent his car and have a 1 hour lesson refresher with him before the test, or should I just take the test with my Dad? Does it matter either way if I take it with an instructor or not? My other question is, has anyone taken the test at the winnetka dmv? I know they all give the test the same way but my instructor said that winnetka is a lot more easier going? is this true? does anyone remember exactly what they tested for while driving, or anything out of the ordinary to watch out for? does anyone also remember about how long the test was, and what happened before and after the test? I know scanning is a major part of the test, and it should be obvious to scan constantly, but to what extent do you have to scan? everyone 30 seconds? every minute? Any information about the winnetka dmv test in california would be extremely helpful, and I thank you all in advance.
