How long will it take me to get my drivers license?

  • I'm a 19yr old and my goal right now is to get my drivers license before summer so how long will it take me. i think i'm pretty smart so the questions they give shouldn't be that hard for me. If anyone has any tips feel free to tell me.. Thanks

    It depends how good a driver you are, and how well you know the Highway Code. Take a couple of months. Book about 6 or 8 driving lessons (one or two per week), and study the Highway Code. Then ask your Driving Instructor if he thinks you are ready. You may need a few extra lessons if you have a particular area of weakness. You can buy a DVD from WH.Smiths, that contains a Highway Code booklet, mock exam, & driving simulations, that is very useful. If you fail the test, first time around - don't fret. Just take a couple more driving lessons, study the Highway Code a bit more, and re-apply to take the test again in another few weeks. After your pass your test, think about booking one more lesson, and ask the Instructor to let you go on the motorway, to get some motorway practice.

you can honestly get it in a week, assuming you pass everything the first try. once you pass the written test, you can take the driving test whenever you want. since you're over 18, even if you fail, you can just take it again the next day if you wanted to just read the questions carefully, they try to trick you. for the driving test, try to be confident, but not cocky. always scan intersections and take your right of way. some people tend to let everyone go before them because they think its safer, but its just confusing traffic and you'll get points marked off. try to make conversation with your instructor, they might go easier on you

It depends on you. When I was young (attending middle school) there was a little time where I imitated my mother when she was driving (a stick). I went to one day of driving school, and they told my mom I didn't need it. I went to the DMV, took the test, drove the car, and got my license right away. You could go in tomorrow, and if you pass both the written and driving tests, could walk out with your drivers license. Ask your parents to let you drive someplace without traffic, get the questions for the test, and study.

No one on here even knows you. The way that you have so immaturely asked this riduculous question suggests to me that you will be lucky to even get a pass in 2012 and are not actually that smart. Don't worry though as you are a teen so that will mean it will be someone elses fault when you fail - its OK though as along with your fellow teens you still all know everything. Come on now, think about what you asked!!!

Well you could always do an intensive course, but you would need to get your theory passed first (if you haven't already) so it was out of the way and you should read the 6 or 8 books after you must do the lessons you learned in the book depends when you are a good driver
