How can I get a hardship license?

How many months of having a permit until I can get a hardship license?

Im 16 and Ive kind of been putting off my permit test for a couple of weeks and I was wondering how long I would have to have a permit to get a hardship license and use that until im eligible to test for my license....... I live in Texas if that helps

You don't need a permit to get a hardship license. Problem is, they only issue them for unlicensed drivers to take sick parents to doctor and hospital visits. If you think it allows you to drive whenever you wish, you are wrong. Hardship licenses are very difficult to obtain. Strange that so many teens from Texas are asking this question.
