What insurance will cover me if I have been in two accidents but I need to drive because my father is disabled?
-
I am currently 17, however I have been in 2 car accidents when I was 16, both my fault. I was given a ticket each time for failure to yield. My parents had to take me off of the car insurance because the rate was too high (we have geico). Since then, my father has been driving me to school/work/etc. Unfortunately, he has multiple sclerosis, so it is getting much harder for him to walk, much less get into the car every day and drive me somewhere. Long story short, I really need to start driving again. Is there any insurance company or insurance plan where they will have some sort of "sympathy" for my situation and give me a fair car insurance rate despite my driving history? Thank you.

Answer:
If Dad specifically excluded you from his policy then putting you back on will almost certainly go back to the high rates. I know of no insurance company that will overlook (forgive) your driving record. All you and Dad can do is to call several insurance companies and ask. Good luck . I suspect you will need it

Insurance is not charity. It's a business. Sympathy has nothing to do with it. Grocery stores can't give away free food to starving people and insurance companies have to use the same rating guidelines. You are free to shop around and see if you can get a better rate. However, insurance rates are based on risk. Risk is the likelihood that you will have an accident. Given that you are an inexperienced driver with 2 at fault accidents on your record...you are a very high risk and will have to pay rates that reflect that. You can get a job and give your parents money to help off set the increased car insurance premiums when you are put on the policy.

You can find sympathy in the dictionary between shyte and syphilis. If you're too stupid to drive a motor vehicle without running into things and other people, then you need to figure some other way to get your lazy butt to school.

lol, you are a high risk driver and there is no sympathy insurance for anyone. Maybe you should think about getting a job to pay for your insurance
whata waste
