What is the best way to prepare for driving theory test?

  • My practical skills are almost test standard so I'v started revising for my theory today, I'v left it a bit late I suppose but I started by reading the highway code, nothing seemed to sink in though! fells like I'v wasted 3 hours of my life. Whats the best way to revise for the theory test? Maybe I should have started with the questions and then read the answers... tips please?

Yep, the practice ones are fantastic. I had a CD that had a massive selection of questions - Every morning once I woke up and before I got ready for work I would take a couple of tests while the kettle was boiling... Full marks baby! I was very worried about taking all the info in, but found the best way was little and often - I got in the habbit of spending 10 mins on the PC a couple of times a day and was amazed at how much I started to remember. I used a theory test CD ROM - it had all the questions possible with answers and easy to follow programme. Just go through it a section at a time and test yourself - it highlights the areas you are weak on so you can go over them. A great resource - got mine free from my instructor but they cheap on ebay too. There are even some online editions too - but they not as good and some you have to pay for. Good luck with the test! And book it asap cos it takes a couple weeks to get in and once you pass you have to wait roughly 6 more weeks for a practical test! So book it now and use the time to practice x

This is what I did: Bought -the Highway code -Theory test book -theory test Q+A CD (included hazard perception test) read the books and did the questions and did the questions on the CD.... then did the test and passed first time! So I would advise you to buy the above :)

whe i did my theory i got my friends and family to ask me questions when i least expected it and to my surprise more often then not i knew the answers when being put on the spot...that could work?

The theory CDrom by 'focus' about £10 and just keep thinking about the safest answer as you answer them and it will normally be the right one.

I just read the book from the Dept of Motor Vehicles a couple times then took the test. The written part of the test is usually pretty easy.

the best way by far is to revise on the computer with the current theory test disk forget all these books, also iv never read the highway code an passed my test easy

Get the example test cd's and do them over and over, it's worked for several people I know
