Question about drivers license?

I currently live in Melbourne, Australia and once I finish high school here I want to go to college in the US and then reside in either the US or Canada. I am 15 at the moment, and I was wondering whether it would be worth getting a drivers license here. So my question is if I got my drivers license here in Australia, would I have less work to do when applying for a drivers license in the US or Canada?

Don't know about canada, but in the US I don't think your license will mean much. The best way to find out would be to go to the "DMV" (department of motor vehicles) website for whatever state you're planning on going to.
