What car is cheap to insure for a first time driver?

  • im learning to drive and need some help in what car to insure. It has to be fairly big ish because im quite a big person. Any ideas. And if so what insurance companies are good for first time drivers

    If your a big person scott, and need more power and yet still want a cheap insurance i would recommend a Car around 5 years and a VW Golf 1.4 are very cheap to insure!

There are no particular good companies yfor new young drivers - they just vary with time and expensiveness and there is no substitute ever with car insurance for shopping around. As for cars why not go to a large car supermarket and try some for size. Even some small small engine cars that are the cheaper to insure can be quite good in the front you will find.

Any small modern car will be cheap to insure. Parker's Guide will list them. I am 6 ft and weigh 19 stones but find the Citroen C1 has ample room.

Hi there not a popular choice for most people but i have a rover 214i and that was cheap for me or you could for the newer type which is the rover 25 they are both tidy size hatchbacks with a 1.4l engine cheap to run and look really nice done up with simple mods

I'd look at maybe something quite common that is also roomy, comfortable and cheapish. Maybe some of the bigger hatches like Gold, Leon, Astra, Focus, Corola/Auris, Ignis, Colt. You may also want to take a look at mpv like Altea, Golf Plus.
