Is there a non-owners motorcycle insurance policy available from any insurance company?

Is there any way I can get a motorcycle insured and not be forced onto my dad's insurance policy?

• I live in the same house as my dad. I am 23 years old, yea i kno, wtf are you doing with ur parents, shut up ok times are tough. I surrendered my license way back so my dad wouldn't have to pay for insurance just because i live here. Now i am ready to start driving but I dont wana have to pay my dads insurance company just to have a license and I also plan on buying a motorcycle. So I called my dads insurance company(21st century formerly AIG) and they said that if I bought a motorcycle and got coverage on it, I would still have to be on my dad's policy because it is not a car and I might still be driving his cars when its raining or what not. So im kinda in a pickle right now. The only way I can not be forced onto my dads insurace company is if I 1. Move out 2. Buy a CAR and get coverage on it 3. Not get license or 4. Just pay my dad the money. All of these options suck. So heres what Im trying to get at: I want to get a drivers license, buy a motorcycle, get coverage, still live in the same house with my dad and not have to be on his insurance policy. WTF do i do? I think I'm screwed.

  If you aren't moving out any time soon why does it matter if you are on his policy? Just add the bike to his policy and cut him a check. If that means you also need to be insured on a car because of the rules and what not, then buck up and pay or check out another insurance company. If you can't afford both then now is not the time for a motorcycle.
