How do you turn off the internet blockers?

Do license plate blockers work?

  • Absolutely NOT! I purchased both the photo blockers and the thick plastic that covers my plates and got 2 tickets for making a right turn on red. I had to pay $100 for each ticket. This is an internet scam, and these products DO NOT work. BTW, I got tickets for making a right turn on red when the sign stated it was permitted. I made a FULL stop before the line, and the camera took a picture of my plate stating that I went through a light. Cities are using camers to generate money, and you cannot win when you contest the ticket. As a result, no one in my town is making a right turn on red, as a result of this revenue producing method. Has anyone else had the same experiences?

  • Answer:

Ya should'a watched the Mythbusters program that discussed those license plate photo blockers. They proved none of them work. Might'a saved ya a few bucks! That segment is available on DVD you can buy from the Discovery Channel by going to the Mythbuster's web page...

Those are illegal anyways. If you don't want any more tickets, I'd take that off. And just about everywhere in the country, they don't take pictures of right turns on a red light.

The Fear *****

First and foremost, obstructing your license plate (or "blocking" it) in any state is illegal, period! Your license plate must be readily visible at all times on your vehicle. If your license plate is bent, dirty, mounted in your back window or windshield, or "blocked", or cannot be easily viewed by other means, then you are taking a risk and possibly creating unnecessary attention for yourself. As for your "right-turn on a red-light" situation......Many cities around the U.S. are using red-light photo enforcement to curb the issues that arise from drivers not making complete stops when turning right on a red light. Not all electronics are perfect, and they have their limits. The red-light cameras are not there just to generate money for the city, they are simply there to detect drivers who do not make a proper right-turn on a red light. They don't just apply to right turns either, they also are capable of capturing photo evidence of drivers who do not obey the red-light wether they are going straight or turning left as well. There are sensors within the red-light camera system that detect the vehicle's position in relation to the markings of the intersection. If you see a red-light camera posted at an intersection where the lines are not clearly marked, then that may be an issue, since some drivers are unable to distinguish where the markings are in order to stop properly. The reason many cities are using the red-light photo enforcement is because it is rather difficult to post a police officer at several intersections to watch for red-light "runners." The bottom line about the red-light cameras is that if you received a citation with a photo of your license plate stating that you ran a red light, and if you know that you obeyed the traffic law and properly stopped before turning right on the red light, then my suggestion to you is to challenge the citation in court. More than likely, there is not only a photo of the "violation" but there should also be video evidence. In my city, there are red-light cameras. Sometimes, even if you are driving correctly, it may or may not flash and snap your picture. The bottom line is that an officer actually sits in front of a computer and reviews each video and photo of the violations that occurr. While reviewing the videos and photos, if the officer sees that a violation did occurr, then the officer submits the violation and a citation is delivered to the registered owner of the vehicle in question. My suggestion to you is to not obstruct your vehicle license plate(s) in any way, and to make sure that you are driving correctly. If you let someone else use your vehicle, I highly suggest that you tell them not to turn right on a red light without stopping, or to committ any traffic violations at all for that matter.

yeah i know how you feel, i heard that the cops are suppose to be writing more tickets for money these days. you should watch myth busters, they did this test. you have be going at least 700mph for the camera to not read your licenses plate. that sucks about the ticket. i always turn right when the signal is red and never got a ticket. FIGHT IT in court !
