Cheap Car Insurance UK?

No such thing as cheap car insurance unfortunately...I wish there was. I presume you've looked on comparison websites etc so the only other thing I can suggest is to have your own policy but if your parents don't have points put them on as additional drivers, I did this and found that for some insurers it reduces the price.

"I keep on getting the quotes for around £3,000+, there is no way I am paying that." The you won't be driving at all, will you? The average cost of insurance for a new driver is £4,000, so £3,000 is "cheap", no matter what you think.

Car insurance has always been expensive for youger drivers, even in the 1960's I was paying around 4 times more than my father for the first 5 years.

Try filly comp as often it is cheaper than third party F&T but even then your quote so far is below the UK average so it will not get much better.

I just got my first car insurance policy after passing my test today. I was getting some crazy quotes, mainly around the £1000 mark - my favourite was £10,500 on a Fiat Punto for a 31 yr old woman. I found Churchill the best at £570 for the year, and Direct Line were pretty competitive too. I also found that in a lot of cases it was MUCH cheaper to get fully comp insurance than 3rd party or 3rd party, fire and theft. Hope this helps - good luck!
