What should I bring on a 26 hour car drive?

  • My friend and I are driving from DC to Colorado and are going to try to make it the whole way without staying at a hotel or anything so we really need to be entertained. I have food, drinks, change of comfy clothes, iPod, lap top, pillow, blanket, CDs, homework, books, and medicine (just in case). Can you think of anything else to survive a 26 hour car drive?

Are you going to sleep in the car or just drive straight through to Colorado? If you going to sleep in the car I would bring a sleeping bag or a lot of blankets because it may get really cold. Maybe some sugary foods, energy drinks, or something that keeps you awake if you are going to be driving straight through. You wouldn't want to fall asleep at the wheel! I cant think of anything else, you can always pick energy drinks and sugary stuff up at gas stations though.

Make sure that your vehicle is in top shape before leaving, also make sure you have some mace, or something for your protection just in case. and most importantly of all make sure you prayer for a safe passage. Michael the Archangel is a very good protector, Ask him to stand guard and protect you, don't forget the master. other than that you have everything else.

How many drivers? One person cannot drive safely for more than 10 hours - assuming they have rested properly prior to starting the journey

I think you have it all covered. I do 18-20 hrs from Ct. to Fla, and don't bring that much.
