Drive from Philadelphia to New Jersey how to avoid traffic?

I-95 South Traffic Jams?

• i live in South Jersey and im going to visit my girlfriend who lives in South Carolina next month and i need to know what would be the best time to leave NJ?? im thinkin about leavin between 7pm-9pm and drive at night to avoid the D.C. area traffic! so by me drivin at night is there a possiblity that i would hit traffic? i dont think so but idk what do you think?? Thank U!

  Lots of factors involved. You never know when there could be a concert somewhere that people are all scrambling to get to/home from... At least you'd avoid the traditional morning rush and afternoon rush times. 7pm might be a tad early, and there may be some lingering traffic; especially if there were accidents during the afternoon commute. 9pm, by contrast, means you won't be getting to your destination late. Oh well; leave at 7. That way even if you do encounter traffic you will arrive no later than if you were to have left at 9 anyway.
