Why is the Sat Nav not working?

TomTom Sat Nav Traffic help?

  • I bought this sat nav a while ago now and it's the Traffic Plus version. I thought that to get the traffic thing working, I'd just have to register or download something for free but then the instruction manel says to go onto the website tomtom.com/plus. So I did that and it seems like I have to pay extra to get the traffic setting working. Is this correct or am I being a complete fruitcake?

    I am looking at Tomtom, the 910 model. My pal pays nothing to upgrade on camera but I think after 1 year he will have to. On their web page it says 1 off payment, it does not state yearly. £30 for traffic and £35 for traffic and camera upgrade. Suggest you phone them for clearance. Their statements are not at all clear when you are buying something that you don't readily understand.

well, ive got the garmin one, and if theres traffic up ahead it will flas up saying how much longer it adds on to the time and asks if i wanted to be redirected, i dont pay for this, so maybe it depends who you go with.

It is one of the honey-traps used to get one to buy their units. Some one should report them to the Office of Fair Trading. It's time. That's why pis*** off people feel it's OK to hack into their units when they are ripping us off with impunity.

Ive got a garmin and didn't have to pay extra for the traffic, they showed me how it all worked at halfords,I had a problem with connecting it to my phone so I updated it last week using the garmin site which was free which fixed the problem
