Can you park on speed bumps?

What can i do about the city putting speed bumps all over the place?

  • Okay so a couple months back, i started to notice a few bumps on the drive home. Then, i notice more and more. These bumps are horrible they're oddly shaped and when you get to the top of it, it's like flat. They're horrible even if you pass through them slowly. Anyway, the city put way too many of them i mean I'm talking about EVERY DAMN street has at least 3 freaking speed bumps! It's ridiculous! There's three of them on a small block. I think it's so annoying and ridiculous because if the speed limit is 25 then why do you have to slow down for the damn bumps to almost 2 miles an hour? If they're gonna put those speed bumps they might as well just change the speed limit to 5 MPH because that's how slow you have to go to not damage your car over time. Can i sue the city if my car gets messed up? What can i do about this?

    The best defense is a good offense, at the next city council meeting let them know that these bumps had better not cause pooling water because according to the centers for disease control, this will bring mosquitoes and standing water cannot be moved and will cause erosion of the street. the street's primary function is the removal of storm water and you are there to ask that the city engineers report be made public and circulated to all of the homeowners so you need a record of whom is responsible for property damage if and when it arises. good luck

They usually put them on streets where they have had trouble with people speeding. So you can blame the problem with all the Speed-Bumps on all those who feel the need to go fast on City streets that are not meant handle higher speeds.

Actually, they are illegal but it is better not to do anything. They have much better lawyers. If you use the car most in the city then install softer suspension.

They're usually put up because a group of citizens have complained about speeding in the area. Try starting a petition to have them removed.
