What is going to happen to me?

Going 22mph over the speed limit in Alpharetta, GA...what is going to happen?

  • I was going 62 on a 40mph PKWY and a cop pulled me over. 2 seconds before he pulled me over i was going 45. The reason why I sped up was because I was going over this light and this truck made a U-turn and I guess he didn't see my car, so I had to stop and beep and then he thought moved to the left lane which i was in and again I almost had ANOTHER accident. Thankfully it didn't happen but I was super nervous and I sped up without realizing it. I was driving my boyfriend's Acura which is really fast and i'm just getting used to it. I truly wasn't trying to speed, but hey it happened. The officer was really nice (they had 4 cars pulled over right in front of me lol) and he gave me a ticket. My court date is June 15. Now, I've heard of this new law of going over a certain miles per hour is like $200 and it goes up, I'm really not aware of it. What will happen to me?!

  • Answer:

most all moving fines are 200 bucks plus court cost plus high insurance fees plus points on your record plus time off work to go to court might cost you about 500 or so after you add in al the cost but yes fine wil be at least 200 if not more

Go to court, pay your ticket. thats it. If you do not want it on your record, take traffic school

From the details given in your post, I don't think you should be driving. If you tell the court you were "super nervous" they might well suspend your license and possibly order a retest
